Public Sector

Provided independent consultancy, implementation and advice on High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions using 10g RAC and 10g Data Guard and detailed planning and migrating databases to Oracle 10g.

Designed and implemented a full monitoring infrastructure using Oracle Enterprise Manager and Grid Control for all Oracle Databases, iAS Servers and non Oracle Servers throughout the organisation. This also included process improvement using Enterprise Manager to save time and money to problem management, performance and capacity planning and service availability reporting procedures.

Financial Sector

Project DBAs to resolve all issues on performance, backup & recovery when a database size was increased to 2Tb which involved using an Oracle Partitioning implementation to archive data.

As the lead Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) DBAs and Designer , this involved architecting, building the Oracle database infrastructure to have no single points of failure, which involved Oracle OPS/RAC and Data Guard with all applications configured using Transparent Application failover (TAF).

Global SAP Backup Solution - This project involved setting up and implementing a backup solution of a number of Oracle databases using the Oracle RMAN backup and recovery tools allowing the applications involved to run 24 x 7

Working on multiple Oracle based projects to tight time scales, we were responsible for all Oracle related issues during the Test and Development life cycle and handover to Support Teams of numerous projects. Multiple projects were worked on simultaneously and during a typical day, careful consideration was given to time-management, prioritisation, resourcing and project planning.
