Shell Script Database Shutdown

Description

Simple database shutdown script. Gets the ORACLE_HOME from /etc/oratab. This script is a must since the Oracle supplied dbstart and dbstop do NOT work with Oracle 7.3 and above.

Parameters

$1 (MANDATORY) - ORACLE_SID of the database to stop
$2 (OPTIONAL) - The mode to stop the database in i.e (NORMAL - default, IMMEDIATE,ABORT)
